This is the blog of Jonathan Bowers. Jonathan is a web guy, a usability junkie, an MBA candidate (2011), a lover of food, a SCUBA diver, and generally a well rounded geek.
This serves as a place to dispense thoughts on various topics but mainly relating to web and new-media, usability, and other things he feels he can geek out about.
Currently Jonathan is employed at School District #73 (Kamloops/Thompson) as the Application Development Manager in the IT department. His role is to oversee the development and enhancement of applications built in-house for district needs (which tend to be web based applications). His skillset is based around open source technologies such as PHP, MySQL, Linux, Apache, Dojo. Additionally he has a firm understanding in the principals and best practices of web application design, database design, and usability issues.
Jonathan is currently enrolled in the UBC Sauder School of Business MBA program where he is growing his skills to take on more leadership roles.
